About PingScope

PingScope is a DNS and reachability toolkit for Windows. Its Multi-Ping monitor watches many hosts in parallel and shows which are up or down, their latency, packet loss and a trend sparkline, with sound and tray alerts when something changes.

Alongside it are the everyday checks: single ping with full options, traceroute with reverse DNS for each hop, DNS lookups against your system resolver or a public one, a DNS Compare view that highlights servers that disagree, a TCP port check, and a network info panel.

It’s one self-contained .exe: no installer, and you don’t need to install .NET.

What it does

  • Multi-Ping monitor: many hosts in parallel with Up/Down status
  • Last, average, minimum and maximum latency, loss % and trend sparklines
  • Sound and tray alerts when a host goes up or down
  • Sortable named columns, CSV log export and saved host lists
  • Single ping with count, size, TTL, timeout and Don't Fragment
  • Traceroute with reverse DNS for each hop
  • DNS lookup for A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SOA, SRV, PTR and CAA
  • Query the system DNS, 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8, 9.9.9.9 or a custom server
  • DNS Compare: the same name across several servers, with mismatches highlighted
  • TCP port check
  • Network info: adapters, gateways, DNS servers, optional public IP and Flush DNS

Built with AI

How it was built

PingScope was built by a Cursor cloud agent (an AI coding agent that works in the cloud) from a short request.

Under the hood

  • .NET 8, with DnsClient.NET for DNS queries
  • Published as a single self-contained .exe, with no installer
  • 108 unit tests
